Technical Coordinator Report #6
5/21/04
Hello everyone. The following summarizes our work in the week ending 21 May 2004.
- 9 observation wells were installed this week. That brings the total to 30 observation wells that have been installed, with 2 remaining, for a total of 32 wells. Originally 36 observation wells were to be installed to complete the original 100 well program started in Sept. 2003. However, due to the predominance of underground vaults, footings, and utilities in Chinatown the remaining 4 proposed wells cannot be installed in that area. The 4 remaining proposed wells will be installed at different locations in this upcoming group of 55 wells using either the alternative locations that are part of the upcoming phase , or at new locations we will select in the next 1-2 weeks .
- Our new co-op, Derek Barnes, began work on Monday 17 May 2004. In the upcoming weeks Derek will be in the field monitoring the well installations and reading observation wells.
- Ryan McTigue is back in school at Wentworth this summer but will be able to do a little part-time work for the BGwT (if Professor Lambrechts does not give his class too much homework!). He started our May 04Õ OW readings this week.
- Received the signed contract extension from NHB for the additional 55 additional observation wells. This work is expected to start on 1 June, as there is a minor delay in getting the city permits turned around quickly enough this week to allow them to start before Memorial Day.
I will continue to be in the field coordinating the overall activities. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
Kind Regards,
Christian Simonelli
